New Zealand have comfortably won the 2nd match as well and they have sealed the 3 match ODI series with one match still to be played. In the 2nd ODI they have beaten England by 86 runs in a high scoring match.

Winning the toss New Zealand skipper Brandon McCullem decided to bat first. But in the last ball of the 2nd over they lost the wicket of Luke Ronchi (2) when their score was just 12 runs and it looked like England bowlers might give them a tough fight to score runs. But New Zealand soon retreated with Kane Williamson who joined Guptill the centurian of 1st ODI and put up a partnership of 120 runs before Williamson was dismissed by Graem Swann after scoring 55 runs. Guptill continued his innings and this time along with Ross Taylor build another partnership of 109 runs. Taylor was dismissed after scoring 60 runs. Then it was all Guptill and McCullum. In just 8.2 overs the duo scored 118 runs to get New Zealand to 360 runs their highest total against England. Guptill who started the innings remained not out scoring 189 runs from 155 balls highest for any New Zealand batsmen in ODI cricket while McCullum scored 40 runs from just 19 balls.

England on their chase of 360 runs never looked in a good position to win the match. Though they batted well in this match then their previous match and in the end they scored 273 runs from 44.1 overs before they were bowled out. Jonathan Trott scored 109 runs and Alastair Cook scored 34 runs while New Zealand bowler Mitchell McClenaghan picked up 3 wickets for just 35 runs.
