Match Summary: India have won this 3rd ODI by 10 runs. It was more of their bowling than their batting. Their batsmen failed yet again to score runs and they were all out for 167 runs only. Dhoni again was the top scorer for the match with 36 runs and for the first time he was dismissed in this series by Umar Gul. Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal was most successful with his carrier best bowling figure of 5 for 24 runs.

For Pakistan this match was just a formality as they have already won the series winning the first two matches. Still it didn’t look like that they took this match lightly as they didn’t go for any test of players and went out with all their performers.

Pakistan lost because of their batting today as they couldn’t bat up to their mark. Their bowlers showed yet another show of nice bowling to restrict India for 167 runs. But batsmen let them down. But Pakistan was on driving sit of the match the whole time except for the last few overs. At one stage they were needed 58 runs off 102 balls with 7 wickets to go. From that position they lost the match. India’s fielding was excellent and it was fielding that took the game away from Pakistan as they saved least 20 to 25 runs with their fielding. Mohendra Sing Dhoni was selected as the man of the match and Nasir Jamshed was man of the series for his back to back centuries in first two matches.

India vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Cricket Highlights 2013 :

Match Preview: Pakistan have already won the series with match still to be played. So far it is all about Pakistan bowlers dominance over the Indian famous batting line up. In first match they have won comfortably by 6 wickets chasing India’s 229 runs target. In the next match batting first at one stage Pakistan were 141 for none when they lost their first wicket but later Indian bowler came back well dismissing the batting lineup of Pakistan for 250 runs. Though the target was very much chasable but India could only manage 165 runs for some brilliant bowling of the Pakistani bowlers and another batting collapse of Indian batting lineup. Now in the 3rd and final ODI is just a formality though both the teams will still be looking for a win as for India it could regain a bit of pride for them where a win for Pakistan will give the arch-rivals a humiliation of clean sweep. So even though this is just a formality as the series have already been won by the visitors still you can never count out the excitement of a match between the two teams and it will be another battle of nerve.

India: Already losing the series with 1 match still to be played there are many questions arising as per the ability of current Indian team. Nothing working for them since they have won the World Cup in 2011. They have been white washed 4-0 by Australia and in England again white washed 4-0. Then England came and after 30 years had beaten them in India in a test series. Now the series loss to Pakistan. They got talented batting lineup but for some reason it is not clicking. In bowling they don’t have that much depth to tackle good teams. So the last match might be a field of experiment for the Indian. They might try some new players and hope that their players get back in form before the series against England.

Pakistan: Pakistan on the other hand is flying in the air. They have beaten India in India with one match still to be played. Even they wouldn’t have thought this to be that much easy for them. Their bowlers are in supreme form where batting is also being good with Hafiz scoring runs in 2nd ODI and Younis Khan scored in 1st match Malik been batting well throughout the tour and also economical in bowling and Jamshed who scored back to back centuries and in verge of three consecutive centuries. In bowling Junaid Khan has showed what he is capable of and Mohammad Irfan is unplayable with the advantage of his height. Umar Gul got back his form as well while Hafiz and Ajmal are top two bowlers in ODI bowlers ranking. Kamran Akmal has been criticized many times for his work on the back of the stumps. But he too did extraordinary work behind the stumps. Pakistan would love to try some new players before the important tour of South Africa. But who can be rested? With all in this form none would want rest as Jamshed will be willing for another century and Hafiz for another show with bat and bowl, Junaid Khan can’t be patient for any longer for another show with the ball and Ajmal will also be looking for another match to take some more wickets. So who is to be rested or they should go with the winning squad is a matter of concern for them.

With all these even though the series is already decided still this is going to be another exciting match between the two arch-rivals.
