Pakistan is back on the series with a win over South Africa by 6 wickets. The 5 match series is now balanced at one all.

Winning the toss South African skipper AB De Villiers elected to bat first. But unlike the 1st ODI they couldn’t capitalize in this match. Mohammad Irfan who was sidelined on the 1st ODI gave the first blow to the South African, picking up Hashim Amla and Colin Ingram on back to back deliveries when the score was only 26 runs. He picked up his 3rd wicket when South Africa’s score was 35 runs picking up the inform AB De Villiers wicket. Junaid Khan soon joined the party picking up the wicket of Graem Smith and South Africa were down to 4 for 43 runs. 19 runs later Irfan gave another blow by dismissing Du Plessis which was his 4th wicket of the match. With the dismissal of Du Plessis, South Africa’s hope of outing up a big total demolished. But they kept fighting and was scoring at a good run rate. On 20th over they reached the score of 100 as there was a good partnership of Behardien and McLaren. This partnership was broken as McLaren was adjudged lbw by Mohammad Hafeez when the score was 106. From there Petersen and Behardien rescued the host as the latter was dismissed at 173. Then rain interrupted the match for an hour and after the match started again Pakistan took 4 overs to bowl out South African at 192 runs.

Chasing 193 runs Pakistan never looked to be in trouble and reached the target comfortably losing 4 wickets only. Jamshed scored 10 runs, Kamran Akmal scored 18 runs, Hafeez scored 31 runs, Younis Khan scored 32 runs. Malik and Misbah took the team pass the winning mark with a partnership of 77 runs. Malik was not out at 35 runs while Misbah was not out scoring 57 runs. Robin Peterson picked up 2 wickets while Steyn and McLaren picked up 1 wicket each
