Match Preview: After two matches been played, the series is hanging in balance at one each. The third and final match will decide which of these teams will be winning the series. New Zealand won the first match by three wickets. But England fought back just the way they did in the T20 series. They had beaten New Zealand by 8 wickets in the 2nd ODI chasing 270 runs. England who won the T20 series would want to win the ODI series as well while New Zealand would want to continue their momentum after winning the series against South Africa.

New Zealand: New Zealand so far on the ODI series batted well. But the bowling was below par on the 2nd ODI which result them losing the match by 8 wickets even after defending a total of 260 runs. Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Brandon McCullum, Martin Guptill all seems to be in really good form. McCullum played some explosive innings in both the matches while Williamson and Taylor each came out with centuries in 1st and 2nd ODI matches. Guptill also contributed on the win on 1st ODI. They haven’t yet needed the service of Nathan McCullum, James Franklin which shows the depth of the New Zealand batting lineup. Bowling has not been that much of trouble to the English batting lineup. Mitchell McClenaghan bowled extremely well in the 1st ODI to pick up 4 wickets. But he was wicketless on the 2nd ODI. James Franklin though haven’t been that much successful with the bat so far but was quite successful with the ball picking up three wickets on the 1st One day match. Kyle Mills though picket up 2 wickets on 1st ODI went on to give away 43 runs in just 6.3 overs on the 2nd match without picking up any wicket. So the bowlers will have to fire up as well if they are to win the ODI series.

England: England on the other hand had a bit ups and downs on their performance so far in the series. The first One Day International match of the series though was won by New Zealand, England did enough home work to secure a win in the 2nd ODI and level the series. They chased down 270 runs with the cost of 2 wickets only. All the four batsmen of the top order scored runs to ensure that the team come out victorious. In both the matches all the bowlers who bowled for England had picked up wickets. But James Anderson was the most successful bowler for them picking up 5 wickets in the 2nd match and one in the 1st match. Chris Woakes was another bowler who picked up two or more wickets in both the ODIs. In the 1st match he got 2 wickets while in the 2nd he though went for 68 runs still picked up 3 wickets. All the players will have to play their best if they want the side secure a series win in the one day international against the New Zealand side.
