With plenty of players involved in the recently completed Champions League, Australia will fancy their chances, being well-adapted to the local conditions. Glenn Maxwell will be the game breaker for them, as he should for the Mumbai Indian, he can be put into pressure situations, and play with a cool head. Mitchell Johnson has been somewhat wayward of late, and will hope that he can find his line and length when putting on the Australian jumper. They will also bank on the experience of Shane Watson, with both bat and ball, although he is not captain of the side, his knowledge of the conditions will be a great asset to George Bailey.
On paper, India looks to be very dangerous side. They have plenty of options with the bat to choose from, which will be a headache for the selectors. The questions on everyone’s lips, is whether or not Yuvraj Singh will be in the starting line-up. Virat Kohli will be eager to get going, after a lengthy rest for the youngster. Dhawan and Sharma will most likely team up to open the innings, with Raina coming in at number 3, making it frightening top 3. Australia will have to strike early, if they want to restrict the top-class Indian batting line-up. India also have the luxury of 3 world class spinners in the lineup, and that excludes the part time Raina and Sharma.
Plenty of runs can be expected with huge batting line-ups on both sides, but one fears that the spin attack of India might be difference between the two sides.
