With the last two fixtures both ending with no results due to rain, India will host Australia at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Cricket Stadium in Nagpur for the 6th ODI in the series of 7. Australia currently lead the series 2-1, meaning that one more win will secure at least a series draw, which they will be more than happy with.

India have a hugely talented top order, capable to taking any bowling attack apart. Dhoni, Kohli and Sharma all average over 100 in the series thus far, all with centuries behind their names. The likes of Dhawan and Raina will also want to get their names on the board, as they look to take advantage of the favorable batting conditions. Unandkat and Mohammed Shami looks to have brought some discipline back into the Indian bowling attack, which will make the job for the Australian top order slightly more difficult. One the sideline, Amit Mishra will be hoping that he finally gets a spot in the starting line-up, and richly deserves it, particularly with the poor form Ashwin has been showing of late.

It’s unlikely that Australia will make any changes in their team selection, as they’ve opted to consistency thus far. The likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile does deserve a chance though, perhaps at the cost of Mitchell Johnson, as Coulter-Nile offers more with the bat in hand. Australian captain George Bailey has scored 318 runs in his four innings’ to date, and will be looking to add to that total, to try and take his side over the line. Faulkner has been the surprise package down the order, scoring 114 runs in the series at an excellent strike rate of 142.

Expect both teams to be ruthless, as they look to drive the advantage home. The 10 days of rest will also have motivated the sides to get back on the field and perform.
