Consistency remains the vital ingredient missing in the Pakistan play. They looked much better in Johannesburg, and can perhaps count themselves unlucky for losing the match after the weather intervened. Their spinner dominated the South African batting, and with Saeed Ajmal set to return to the side, scoring will be made difficult for South Africa. The Pakistan pace attack will have to lift their game, Tanvir and Junaid Khan have to lead from the front. Shehzad and Jamshed were given the opening role again, with both failing once more. Perhaps Mohammad Hafeez has to take the responsibility and open the batting, where he has scored most of his runs. He has to face up to Dale Steyn, and show his side that he is not scared.
South Africa might opt to give some fringe players a go, with the likes of Phangiso and Wiese itching for some time in the middle. De Villliers will likely return, after resting in the last match, which will add some firepower for the batting order. David Miller has yet to show his true ability, he is in the side as a finisher, but needs more time in the middle to show off his class. He might be shifted higher in the order, to give him some much needed time out in the middle. With Henry Davids released from the squad, it would seem as if Quinton de Kock has made the opening birth his own, after a string of good performances.
It will be the spin of Pakistan, versus the pace of South Africa, to decide the outcome of the T20 series.
